Influential vietnamese buddhist monk considered the father of mindfulness tikhnat han has died aged 95. thik nathan was exiled from vietnam in the 1960s for opposing the war he then spent decades in france and went on to establish monasteries and meditation centers around the world. 


Known as the plum village tradition he had met martin luther king and persuaded him to speak up against the violence in vietnam martin luther king had recommended the monks name for the nobel priests prize describing him as an apostle of peace and non-violence king's daughter.
